Reading GTA 6 screenshots: colour, light and weather are different clues

Make careful visual notes about GTA VI images without turning a dramatic sky or reflected light into a claim about the game’s weather systems.

A vivid GTA VI image can encourage several different claims at once: the scene looks warm, it seems to be evening, or it proves a particular weather system. Those claims require different kinds of support.

For visual study, start with Rockstar's screenshot collection and retain the original item link. Our method is to write a description before offering an explanation. “Orange light on the building” is narrower than “this proves how sunset always behaves.” The examples here are hypothetical, not reports of specific screenshots.

Separate the observation from the system

A bright reflection is a visible detail. How it was rendered is a technical question. A dark sky is a visible condition. How often that condition appears, whether it changes dynamically and whether it affects driving are different questions again.

A still image does not provide a timeline. To make a claim about a transition, you would need suitable continuous evidence or an explicit description, not simply two images with different colours.

Keep the viewing context

If you compare images, record whether you are viewing the original file, a compressed repost or your own capture. Avoid using screenshots of screenshots for fine colour comparisons when the original remains available.

For your own later PS5 captures, open Settings, Captures and Broadcasts, then Captures. Under Screenshot Format, Sony documents file-type and HDR options; HDR requires a compatible display. Note those choices when comparing your images. They do not establish the settings Rockstar used for promotional material.

For now, a useful scouting note might end with a question: “I want to see how this kind of light changes during play.” It should not end with an invented weather schedule.
